1. Who we are
Global ATLAS Academy (“we,” “our”) operates an ISEE preparation platform. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in line with this policy and applicable law.
2. Data we collect
We collect:
- Account data: When you sign up (via Clerk), we receive and store your email address and, if you connect a subscription, your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers. We store a link between your Clerk identity and our database (user id, plan, progress, and similar).
- Usage and progress data: Quiz and exam answers, scores, attempts, topics, and time spent so we can show your progress, level, and leaderboard position.
- Contact form data: Name, email, and message when you use the Contact form. We use this to respond and do not use it for marketing unless you opt in.
- Communication preferences: Whether you opt in to the weekly summary email and practice reminders (stored in your account).
3. How we use your data
We use your data to provide the service (practice quizzes, exams, progress, flashcards, subscription), to send transactional and opted-in emails (e.g. weekly summary, reminders), to respond to contact requests, to improve the product, and to comply with law. We do not sell your personal data.
4. Third-party services
- Clerk: Authentication (sign-up, sign-in). Clerk processes your email and identity. See Clerk’s privacy policy for their practices.
- Stripe: Payment and subscriptions. We send plan and trial information to Stripe; we do not store full payment card details. See Stripe’s privacy policy.
- Resend: Sending email (invitations, contact form delivery, weekly summary, practice reminders). Emails are sent via Resend to the addresses you provide or your account email. See Resend’s privacy policy.
- Database (Neon): Your account and progress data are stored in our database hosted by Neon.
5. Retention
We retain account and progress data for as long as your account exists. After you delete your account (or request deletion), we remove or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal or operational reasons (e.g. fraud, disputes). Contact form messages may be retained for support and compliance for a limited period.
6. Cookies and similar tech
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication (Clerk session), security, and essential operation of the site. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can control cookies via your browser settings; disabling them may affect sign-in and some features.
7. FERPA (U.S. students)
If you are a student in the United States, your school may have rights under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regarding educational records. Our platform stores progress and performance data that could be considered part of a student’s educational experience. We do not share this data with third parties for marketing. If your school uses Global ATLAS Academy and has a separate agreement with us, that agreement may define how we handle school-related data. Parents and students can contact us to ask about access or deletion of student-linked data.
8. Security and your rights
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. You can access and update your account and email preferences from the dashboard. You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us; we will respond in line with applicable law.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
